NA Meetings Near Me

Support

Something wrong or missing? Here's where it gets fixed. For anything not covered below, email app@nameetingsnearme.app.

A meeting is incorrect, missing, or has moved

The app doesn't hold the meeting list. It reads the BMLT aggregator, and each NA area and region publishes and corrects its own meetings there.

So an incorrect time, a closed group or a missing meeting gets fixed by your local area or region, not here. Contact their web servant or area service committee. Once they update it, the app shows the change on the next search. I have no way to edit anyone's meeting list.

The app itself is broken

Crashes, a screen that won't load, a filter hiding the wrong thing, anything that looks like a bug in the app rather than the data: email app@nameetingsnearme.app.

What helps: which screen, what you expected, what happened instead, and roughly where you were searching.

Common questions

It can't find my location

Location permission is off, or the device couldn't get a fix. Turn it on for the app in your system settings, or tap the search field and enter a town. Everything works the same from a searched place.

The map is blank

The map needs a connection. If it stays blank when you have one, the fault is on my end, so please email app@nameetingsnearme.app. Every other screen still works without it.

Meetings are showing a long way away

The app picks a search distance to suit wherever you are: tight in a city, wider in a small town, and no limit at all somewhere remote, where a meeting an hour away is genuinely the nearest one there is. Use the distance button to set your own cap, or clear it to go back. The list will tell you if the cap is hiding everything.

My reminder didn't arrive

Reminders are set by your phone, so it's your phone's settings that stop them. Check that notifications are allowed for the app, and on Android 14 and later, that alarms and reminders are allowed too. Without that second one, Android is free to hold a reminder back until well after the meeting started.

Turning that permission off deletes every reminder already scheduled. Opening the app sets them up again, so if you've just switched it back on, open the app once.

Add to calendar did nothing

The button opens your phone's own event editor, and it needs somewhere to save to. If no calendar account is set up on the device, there's nothing for it to open. If you refused calendar access, you can turn it back on for the app in your system settings.

The entry it writes carries only the meeting's name and address. Nothing identifies it as an NA meeting, deliberately.

The app isn't in my language

It follows the language your phone is set to, across 15 languages, and you can pick a different one in Settings.

Is my clean date sent anywhere?

No. It's stored on your device and nowhere else, and it's written twice so that a phone short of space can't quietly lose it. The meetings you save and the reminders you set stay on the device too. See the privacy policy.

Will I lose my saved meetings if I reinstall?

Yes. Everything the app keeps is on the device and there's no account holding a copy, which is the trade for it asking nothing about you. Your clean date is the one worth writing down somewhere before you delete the app.

Does it work offline?

Partly. Your last set of results is kept on the device and shown with a note about how old it is, and the app refreshes on its own once the signal comes back. Searching a new place needs a connection. Saved meetings, reminders and your clean date all work with no connection at all.

Ask for something, or tell me it's broken

This goes straight to me. No account, and no name unless you type one - leave the second box empty and there is nothing on the message to say who sent it. An address is the only way to get an answer back, so it's worth one if you want a reply.

If you need help right now

This is a meeting directory, not a crisis service. If you're in danger or in a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. To talk to someone in NA, a meeting is the surest way, and many areas run a phoneline listed on their own website.
